Slinger/Signaller - All Types - All Duties
This course provides lifting operations training, to enable the candidate to competently and safely carry out the role and pass the NPORS Theory and Practical Tests, gaining the NPORS CSCS Operator's Card.

Who should attend?
Those with responsibility for ensuring that safe practice is employed during lifting operations on their site. This includes the person who is to attaching the load to the crane and those supervising the operation.

What qualification will you get?
NPORS Traditional Card
For delegates that wish to apply for the NPORS Traditional Card, there is no requirement to do an NVQ qualification. If the ‘HS&E TESTED Logo’ is required on the card, entrants must ensure they have attended and passed the CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment Test within the two years prior to application for the card. Validity: 3 or 5 years dependent on any sector specific or in-company requirements. Note: For those operating in the construction sector the NPORS / CSCS card route should be followed.
NPORS / CSCS Card
Upon successful completion of this course, delegates applying for NPORS/CSCS Card will be awarded a NPORS Red Trained Operators Card valid for 2 years. During this time delegates will be required to register for a relevant NVQ. Upon successfully completing of the NVQ, delegates will be awarded a Competent Operators Card valid for 5 years. A CPD record / operator logbook will also be issued which will need to be kept up to date.
Candidates holding a relevant NVQ
Once successfully tested operators who currently hold the requisite NVQ with the unit credits applicable to the categories of plant held on their NPORS card will be issued with a Competent Operator card valid for 5 years from the date they were tested. Operators in receipt of the Competent Operator card will also be issued with a CPD record / operator logbook. This will be an ongoing record of the operator’s continuous professional development and of their operating hours in the workplace.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There is no requirement to take an NVQ Qualification for the NPORS Traditional Card.
For HS&E Tested logo on card
All candidates must have achieved the relevant CITB HS&E test within 2 years of their booked NPORS test date. It is important that any candidates have a good understanding of spoken and written English, interpreters are available upon request for those who are not fluent in English. All candidates will need to provide their own appropriate PPE for training and testing purposes.
